                                              A Great Treasure

                                                                                                          
        I have had the privilege to preach in many churches and street crusades
    since I have been here in East Africa the last three weeks. God is showing
    Himself strong as He releases His Holy Spirit and the reality of Heaven in the
    meetings. I have been sharing the simple message of the Kingdom with
    the result of Heaven being opened up and poured out. It seems that most of the
    churches here have never moved past the salvation message into the
    kingdom message of authority and victory. I start each crusade by telling the
    crowd that today is a very fortunate day for them because I am a very rich
    American and that I have come to share my treasure with them. The look on their
    faces is such that you would think that Oprah Winfrey was about to
    give away an automobile to all who attended.
    Then I share with them some parables that Jesus spoke:  

    The Kingdom of heaven is like a treasure hidden in a field,                            
    which a man found and hid; and for joy over it he goes and                                    
    sells all that he has and buys that field.
    Again, the Kingdom of heaven is like a merchant
    seeking beautiful pearls, who when he had found one of great value,
    went and sold all that he had and bought it. (Matthew 13:44-45)

    Just like these men, if they (we) are willing to give up all that we have we can
    experience the Kingdom of God in their (our) lives. Forget about religion,
    denominations, theology or the color of our skin. There is a great treasure for us,
    a pearl of great value, and it is at hand!  I have seen God do
    incredible things in the meetings. Blind eyes have been opened, cripples and the
    paralyzed healed right in front of my eyes and walk! Demons cast out
    and people set free!  Deaf ears opened up!
    I have seen the hand of God move and felt His power and anointing like I had
    never thought possible.
    Jack Taylor and I have each brought a Kingdom messages every day in the
    services with utter amazement of what God is doing. My faith has been
    thrust into a new level as I stand in awe of His tender mercy and grace expressed
    with such mighty power and authority. I’ve seen demons manifest in
    people in an attempt to disrupt the services cast out with just a word in Jesus
    Name! At times I would be at the point of complete exhaustion, and then
    the anointing would come. God would move. Heaven would open up and God
    would pour out. During these times a hush would fall over the crowd and
    a heaviness of the Holy Spirit would be present. It would seem to happen when
    we abandoned ourselves totally and completely and just worshiped Him.
    Didn’t Jesus say somewhere that we would do the works that He did?

    Kingdom Anointing is Our Destiny

    I (we) have allowed our fears of “supernatural” experiences such as I shared
    above to prevent us from pressing into the very destiny that God has for
    us. He has destined us for the nations, and most of us have remained destined
    for our soft sofa’s, in our nice houses, in our nice neighborhoods, with
    our nice bank accounts, and our safe world. We must choose with our free will if
    we want to be like the man and the merchant in the parable and give
    total abandonment to everything we own and who we are to receive the Kingdom.
    I remember hearing someone say  “you can have respectability or the anointing.”
    Which would you rather have? Paul put it this way. “I’m a fool for
    Christ!”………Whose fool are you?  God is not mocked. But maybe we should be.
    Maybe His value for anointing eliminates our need for being
    respectable to the world. I am having to rethink what it is that God desires of our
    lives, who it is that he longs to touch, and how He works through our
    lives. Maybe, just maybe, .....Anointing comes not from proper teaching, effective
    teaching, or because we lay claim to it. I see now that
    the anointing comes because we have been with “The Anointed One.”
    On the plane trip to East Africa I spent much time in prayer seeking an anointing
    from God. I asked God for the anointing of John G. Lake…….
    Wigglesworth…..Bill Johnson….and a long list of others.
    After tasting the anointing I have realized that these “heroes” did not and do not
    have their own anointing……..they carried HIS!  I want His anointing!
    The double portion…the one that results in all being healed…the one that
    touches nations starting with the face in front of me.
         It is this anointing that God is pouring out here in East Africa, and many parts of    
    the world.
    The anointing of Jesus alone will set the captives free, overcome sickness,
    disease, unbelief and evil in our cities and nations.
    Having tasted a small portion of this anointing and see the reality of Heaven
    demonstrated, I have chosen to pursue an ever increasing anointing with
    Jesus as the standard. I have chosen to do this with total abandonment. I see
    now that it is caught by being with Him and remains as I remain with Him.
    God is looking for people who will reach a place of divine desperation for His
    presence………someone who will give up all for the great treasure of His
    Kingdom, a pearl of great value. Someone who will be a fool for Him…….
    someone who with total abandonment of self will throw the other leg out of the
    boat and walk on water with him!
